Direct Payment

If you or a family member receives care and support through your local Council, you may be eligible for a ‘direct payment’. This is a sum of money provided by the Council directly to you, allowing you to allocate it towards your care and support needs.

With a direct payment, you have the flexibility to use this funding to fully or partially cover your home care costs.

Depending on the type of support you require and the amount you receive as a direct payment, you may need to contribute to some of your care costs personally.

Direct payments are not available to everyone. To determine if you qualify or to get more information about direct payments and your specific situation, contact your local authority’s Adult Social Care department.
